Long before industrial factories and synthetic materials, craftsmanship was tied directly to trade and lineage. The name Skinnari—an old Nordic trade name for the tanner and hide-worker—serves as our foundational anchor. It represents an ancestral connection to raw materials, respect for the hide, and traditional hand manipulation.

Alongside it stands Fiskari, referencing the traditional fisherman and woodsman. It reflects practical utility: crafting gear designed to withstand nature, salt water, hard weather, and daily work. Together, these two traditions guide everything we build—ensuring every piece is both historically grounded and thoroughly practical.

In our Lehigh Acres workshop, the process remains tactile, patient, and deliberate. We believe in the feel of full-grain leather and the exactness required for manual hand-cutting. Every custom piece begins here—utilizing heavy head knives, hand-set hardware, wet-molding, and hand-saddle stitching with heavy thread. Whether working with vegetable-tanned cowhide, rugged bison, or specialty hides, our standard remains unchanged: build gear to outlast the owner.

While the soul of our craft is rooted in classic benchwork, we embrace modern capabilities through a generational partnership. Down in Naples, Abigail brings precision laser cutting and high-detail digital engraving to the process.

By integrating modern laser technology with traditional hand assembly, we offer:
